ARTickle: manilART2016 – Ground Zero For Inspiration

Celebrating its 8th year as the premier and longest running art fair in the Philippines, Manilart has come a long way indeed.

I remember their first installation, the exhibition was held at the now-defunct NBC tent, just a stone’s throw away from the restaurant cluster which is popularly known as The Fort.  The moment I stepped inside the tent, it was pure wonderland!  With numerous art galleries from all over being represented in assigned stalls with selected artworks of their chosen featured artists, it was a feat for the eyes!

dsc00007dsc00010Fast-forward to October 2016, the art fair has evolved and matured and has moved from one venue to another, and this time it is being held at the SMX of SM Aura at the BGC (Bonifacio Global City, Taguig, Metro Manila).  This was the same venue used last year.

Although some of my favourites were not represented this year.  I’ve made a few new ones.

Here’s looking forward to next year’s event!

A Federico Aguilar Alcuaz artwork!
